We are committed to maintaining the privacy of individuals whose personal information we collect in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

This policy explains how and why we collect, use, hold and disclose your personal information.  By providing us with personal information, you consent to us collecting, using, holding and disclosing your personal information in accordance with this policy.
 
WHAT IS PERSONAL INFORMATION?  
Personal information is any information or an opinion about an identified individual or an individual who can be reasonably identified from the information or opinion. Information or an opinion may be personal information regardless of whether it is true.
 
WHAT PERSONAL INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT AND HOLD?  
When you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through our website, we collect certain personal information from you, including but not limited to, your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information (including credit card numbers), email address and phone number.

We may also collect similar information from you in relation to another person.  If so, you warrant that you are authorised to provide us with that person’s personal information and that we are able to use that individual’s personal information as provided by you for the purposes set out in this privacy policy, which would include using their address to undertake delivery of the purchase.  You agree to indemnify us for any claims brought by any third party against us arising out of or in connection with the use of any personal information you supply.

Additionally, when you visit our website, we may collect information about how you access, use and interact with our website.  This information may include your device, web browser, IP address, time zone, device attributes, language, operating system and some of the cookies that are installed on your device. Additionally, as you browse our website, we collect information about the individual web pages or products that you view, what websites or search terms referred you to our website, and information about how you interact with our website (“Device Information”).

WHY DO WE COLLECT, HOLD AND USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION? 
We collect, hold and use your personal information so that we can:
(a) perform our functions and activities;
(b) provide you with products and services, and manage our relationship with you;
(c) contact you, for example, to respond to your queries or complaints, or if we need to tell you something important;
(d) comply with our legal obligations and assist government and law enforcement agencies or regulators; or
(e) identify and tell you about other products or services that we think may be of interest to you.
 
If you do not provide us with your personal information, we may not be able to provide you with our products and services, communicate with you or respond to your enquiries.

HOW DO WE COLLECT YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION?  
We collect your personal information from you in a variety of ways, including when you access our website or submit information via our website, when you communicate with us including by electronic means such as email or in person or by telephone, and when we provide goods or services to you. 

We endeavour to collect personal information direct from you.  We may also receive some personal information from third parties.  If you provide us with personal information about another individual, we rely on you to ensure that it is correct and that there exists proper authorisation for you to provide it to us.

We also use the following technologies to collect information:

Cookies” – We use cookies on our website. A cookie is a small text file that a website may place on your device to store information. Cookies give the server information about a user’s identity, website visiting patterns and preferences.  We may use persistent cookies (which remain on your computer even after you close your browser) to store information that may speed up your use of our website for any of your future visits to our website. We may also use session cookies (which no longer remain after you end your browsing session) to help manage the display and presentation of information on our website.  You may refuse to use cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser. However, please note that if you do this, you may not be able to use the full functionality of our website.

Facebook tracking pixels” – we collect identifiable information through the use of Facebook tracking pixels. A tracking pixel is a small transparent graphic image that is placed on a web page. The pixel allows us to collect information regarding the use of the web page that contains the tracking pixel. If you have used Facebook on the same device, we share the tracking pixel data with Facebook and they use the information collected from the page to optimise the advertising you see when using Facebook.  If you are a registered user of Facebook and you do not wish Facebook to track your use of pages on our website in this way, you can opt out by changing your advertisement settings.

Tags” – we use tags to improve the efficiency and usability of our website by measuring traffic and visitor behaviour.  Using tags allows us to (i) measure traffic and visitor behaviour; (ii) understand the impact of online advertising and social channels; (iii) use remarketing and audience targeting; (iv) test and improve our site; (v) personalise advertising; and (vi) produce analytics reports.  You can opt out of tags by disabling cookies, JavaScript, or using Googles opt-out service.

HOW DO WE STORE AND HOLD PERSONAL INFORMATION? 
We store most information about you in computer systems and databases operated by either us or our external service providers. Some information about you may be recorded in paper files that we store securely.

We implement and maintain processes and security measures to protect personal information which we hold from misuse, interference or loss, and from unauthorised access, modification or disclosure.
 
These processes and systems include:
(a) the use of identity and access management technologies to control access to systems on which information is processed and stored;
(b) requiring all employees to comply with internal information security policies and keep information secure;
(c) requiring all employees to complete training about information security; and
(d) monitoring and regularly reviewing our practise against our own policies and against industry best practice.
 
We will also take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify personal information once we no longer require it for the purposes for which it was collected or for any secondary purpose permitted under the APPs.

WHO DO WE DISCLOSE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION TO, AND WHY?  
We may transfer or disclose personal information to (i) external service providers so they may perform services for us on our behalf; and (ii) denominational entities that are a part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church, both within Australia and overseas.  Where possible we will take reasonable steps to ensure they handle all personal information in accordance with this Policy, the APPs and the Privacy Act regarding the handling of any personal information

We may also disclose your personal information to others where:
(a) we are required or authorised by law to do so;
(b) you may have expressly consented to the disclosure or the consent may be reasonably inferred from the circumstances; or
(c) we are otherwise permitted to disclose the information under the Privacy Act.
 
If the ownership or control of all or part of us changes, we may transfer your personal information to the new entity.

We do not generally disclose personal information to recipients located outside of Australia.  If any disclosure is required for us to perform our functions and activities, including providing you with goods and services that you request, we will request that any recipients follow this Policy, the APPs and the Privacy Act regarding the handling of any personal information.

DO WE USE YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION FOR MARKETING? 
We will use your personal information to offer you products and services we believe may interest you, but we will not do so if you tell us not to.  These products and services may be offered by us or denominational entities that are part of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
 
Where you receive electronic marketing communications from us such as our newsletter, you may opt out of receiving further marketing communications by following the opt-out instructions provided in the communication.
 
ACCESS TO AND CORRECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION 
You may access or request correction of the personal information that we hold about you by contacting us. Our contact details are set out below. There are some circumstances in which we are not required to give you access to your personal information.
 
There is no charge for requesting access to your personal information but we may require you to meet our reasonable costs in providing you with access (such as photocopying costs or costs for time spent on collating large amounts of material).
 
We will respond to your requests to access or correct personal information in a reasonable time and will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we hold about you remains accurate, up to date and complete.
